be used for HAPE treatment. They have not been systematically studied for this purpose, but their use for HAPE has
been reported in the literature.94 Use of a portable hyperbaric chamber should not delay descent in situations where
descent is feasible.
Recommendation. When descent is infeasible or
delayed or supplemental oxygen is unavailable, a portable
hyperbaric chamber may be used to treat HAPE. Recommendation Grade: 1C
